If yes, then read on! You are having the exact same issue that I was having last night! My drive label changed to NOKIA & it was not changing.
Since, I use Windows 8 & update regularly my Windows Defender, I couldn’t think that I was virus affected. However, I searched both in Google & Bing to solve the problem but there wasn’t any solve online. So I started my work to fix it.
Drive Label Changed To Nokia? Not Changing?
Yeah! That’s what happened with me.
Solve ‘NOKIA’ Drive Label Not Changing Problem!
The issue was created by some information placed in System Volume Information of that drive. Since Windows doesn’t allow to delete that drive, you have to download any Linux distro, boot it live & go to each drive of yours & you have to delete 3 folders (including autorun.inf if any).
Comodo Dragon is a Web Browser built by Comodo, the well-known company that is serving Comodo Firewall, Comodo Internet Security & other security tools for a long time.
Why Comodo Dragon?
Comodo Dragon is just based on Chromium Open Source Project (Chromium is the source which on Google Chrome is based) If you are a Google Chrome user, then you certainly going to like it. Because Comodo Dragon looks & feels just like our well known Google Chrome. Comodo Dragon eliminates Chrome’s usage tracking and some other potentially privacy-compromising features, and provides additional security measures, such as indicating the authenticity and relative strength of a website’s SSL certificate. I’ll be reviewing Comodo Dragon 21.1 which is based on Chromium 21.xxx It’s apparent that Comodo Dragon runs on an out dated version. At the time of writing this article, current stable version of Google Chrome is 22.xxx I don’t blame Comodo for this. It’s tough to catch up with Google’s ultra frequent updates, but still they are doing good job in updating Comodo Dragon as often as possible. For most of the part, both Comodo Dragon and Chrome are almost most same, except for few features. Especially, for Privacy and security features.
(A screenshot of Comodo Dragon 21 on Windows 8)
Why You’ll Use Comodo Dragon?
The answer is simple. To have a better privacy. Comodo Dragon itself says it has these 4 unique features over Chrome:
Secure browsing with no crashes
Lightning fast with low PC resources
Easy to start with
Convenient and flexible plugins
The first two is pretty important to me. Surely, Chrome is lightening fast since it’s birth. But Chrome sometimes cause crashes. Besides, Chrome cannot run with low PC resources. Furthermore, Chrome’s usage tracking and some other potentially privacy-compromising features can be ignored with this browser. As Comodo Dragon built right from the Chromium Open Source project, it features the first two essential features.
Chrome Windows 8 Compatibility Issue
I was having some issues with Chrome lately with Windows 8. Chrome hangs, loads pages for eternity, Aw Snap & Grr..! I recently wrote a post ‘How To Solve Chrome Issue on Windows 8’ issue, It solved mine for the last week but Chrome was behaving strange since the Chrome 23 update (Yeah I run the dev build). The same page loading issue was tempting me. Then I found out this Comodo Dragon.
Comodo Dragon – Wrap Up
In a nutshell Comodo Dragon is a
A Chromium technology-based Browser that offers you all of Chrome’s features PLUS the unparalleled level of security and privacy you only get from Comodo. Including a greater level of privacy than Chromium technology offers.
First of all we should clear that its not only you! The latest release of Chrome does shitty thing. We all were suffering from this weird issue.
How to solve Chrome slow loading issue?
The recent Chrome update which is 21.0.1180.79 m does this thing. I thought what is wrong recently because more than 50% of websites I visited are loading very slow, In fact, sometimes they are not being loaded at all. Today, I finally realized that the problem is with Google Chrome browser because when I tried surfing using Firefox, they can be loaded in seconds. Of course, I am a Google Chrome lover & user since the birth of Chrome, so I wouldn’t switch my default browser just because of this. Then, I started to play around with Chrome’s preferences until I finally found a fix.
The Issue is being created by DNS Pre Fetching Feature
How to fix DNS Issue on Chrome?
For old version of Chrome, the setting is located at Preferences > Under The Hood.
For newer version of Chrome, the setting is located at Settings > Show Advanced Settings > Privacy
Now, there is a checkbox named “Use DNS pre-fetching to improve page load performance” or “Predict network actions to improve page load performance“. Or similar.
Everyone, including me would have ticked this checkbox because it seems to bring only benefits and it sounds promising. However, it is not the case here, while I still cannot explain why this is happening, just untick the checkbox to bring your Chrome back to its speedy glory.
In my Google Chrome for Windows 8, the settings is actually called “Predict network actions to improve page load performance“. Therefore, just untick any similar checkbox.
Hope this helps.
Update: 1 (21-Aug-2012)
If the above method doesn’t work you can do another workaround. Hope that’ll work. (Worked for me atleast).
1) Update to the latest Chrome.
2) Press Windows Key+Q
3) Write ‘Allow an app through Windows Defender’
4) Click ‘Change Settings‘
5) Select ‘Allow another app’
6) Find the path of Chrome. If you don’t know where is it then go to this location

Metro is a typography-based design language created by Microsoft. Metro was invented by Microsoft Research in order to reduce noise from the UI and better focus on the content, relying more on typography and less on graphics. The apps that you see on Windows Phone use that design theme. Windows 8 introduces new type of application along with regular Windows Forms and WPF: the Metro style apps. Metro style apps have a brand new look and feel, run on a variety of devices, which you can develop in several ways, and also publish to official marketplace called: Windows Store. Others can buy your apps, download and start using them.
Connecting Metro with Thesis
When I saw Metro UI I had a vision to make it suitable for websites. I was busy sometime so couldn’t make it. After my exams were finished, I was free & able to do that kind of theme. I worked actually 4/5 days to make this skin for thesis.
This is how Metrofy Thesis looks.

Google’s Answer To Siri: An Updated Google Search in Jellybean!
As we all know Google unveiled Android’s next version named Jellybean in the Google I/O 2012. Jellybean doesn’t have some noticeable UI changes but it has really performance upgrade in the core. Google claims that Android doesn’t anymore lag. Jelly Bean is butter smooth! 😀
Watch this video & you’ll know Google’s answer to Apple’s Siri.
Siri VS Google Search: Head To Head Comparison
I think Google has really made Google Search now a Siri competitor. The voice really sounds like more human like. (Not like Robotic Siri! 😀 )
Looking forward a port of this to use on Gingerbread eagerly!
First of all Sorry to copy the title from our favorite big bro Nirjhor. I firs heard the name Torrific from his blog post Torrific: Terrific Tool for Torrent Junkies. It was one of the best websites I had ever known. It could transload torrents really fast & gave direct download links with 48 Hours Resume Support.
Unfortunately, Torrific shut down 4/5 months back. Since then I was searching for a good alternative like torrific. I couldn’t find any service that works like torrific. That transloads torrents fast & works in very low seeds. Nevertheless, I’ve found the alternative today.
Microsoft Windows either you hate the name or love the name, you can’t ignore it. There are billions of people using it right now. (I’m also using it to write this post on my blog). Anyways, Microsoft’s next Big Thing is Windows 8.
Windows 8 boosts of many new features including the all new Start Screen, blazing fast boot, Metro UI & Metro Apps.
Likewise, those are the major features of Windows 8. However, there are some many small improvements under the hood of Windows. One of that is Microsoft including a new font for Bengali people all around the people. This may not make news on websites like TechCrunch or Mashable. Nevertheless, I was interested profusely to let our Bangladeshi people & Bengali people all over the world.
Nirmala UI – Looks What You Expect
When Apple included 2 new Bangla fonts on Lion, it was Microsoft’s turn to do the same to be on the competition. They’ve done & woww! It’s better than Apple or Google. It’s one of the best for Bangla & it loooks sooo coooool!
Let me show you guys a screenshot 🙂
Isn’t that awesome? 😀 (y)
I haven’t seen such awesome fonts by any Bangla font developer company, Apple or Google. Microsoft has done the best job in their Bangla font history.
The font is default in Windows 8 Metro Apps. So you don’t have to set it via Font Fixer or any 3rd Party apps. It just works (y)
Before you download the preview, you should weigh the pros and cons of installing software that’s still in development. If you install the preview release, you’ll get to try out the new font, but you might also encounter errors that you wouldn’t encounter using a released version of Windows. So I don’t take any responsibility if anything doesn’t work.
