Windows 8, along with Surface RT, is the biggest and most riskiest yet ambitious product Microsoft has ever worked on since the original Xbox over ten years ago. On the face of it, the company has significantly changed the way users use Windows , with a user-interface that is targeted more towards touch input on tablets rather than your traditional mouse and touchpad.
The Start button has been a part of Windows since the mid 90s, so removing it after all these years is bound to cause confusion and invite negative criticism from loyal users.
Well, I’m here to tell you that it isn’t that bad. As a matter of fact, after using Windows 8 since the RTM leak, if I were given the option to choose between the Start menu of Windows 7 or the Start screen on Windows 8, I’d opt for the new Windows 8 Start Screen. Here’s why:

  • it’s dynamic, smooth as butter,
  • looks amazing,
  • works well (with the right input device) and
  • has potential to do something even more revolutionary with future updates.

Despite That…

Some users aren’t really ready to adopt the change. They’ll still move their mouse into the left bottom corner to bring back the good old Windows 7 Startup Menu. Now here’s my post is to bring back the old Start menu on Windows 8.

How To Bring Back Start Menu on Windows 8 Free?

There are lots of 3rd party applications are popping up to bring back the old Start Menu on Windows 8. The most early of this batch is probably Stardock’s Start8. It was good when it was first released. However, they made the software PAID for a while. So I’m not recommending to use it.

Bring Back Windows 7 Start Menu on Windows 8 with Iobit’s Start Menu 8

The Best Start Menu Replacement for Windows 8 is START MENU 8.

It’s completely free. Does all the things we were used to in Windows 7 & completely free. Besides, Iobit makes really good software. I’ve been satisfied with their PC Utility tool (Advance System Care) for a couple of years.

StartMenu8 is specially designed for Windows 8. It offers a perfect solution for users who work with Windows Start Menu all the time and are not accustomed to the new Metro start screen in Windows 8. This smart tool brings back both the start button and Windows Start Menu, and offers the option to skip Metro start page, allowing users who only work on desktop to boot to Windows 8 desktop directly. It’s the best start menu replacement for Windows8.

Features of Start Menu 8
  • More Efficiency and Convenience
  • Easily Switch between Metro and Desktop Interface
  • Faster Access to Programs and Files
  • Quicker Searching
  • Customizable to Your Needs
  • Safe and Secure

I like the stardock’s win8 button over Iobit’s because its looks like previous appearance. Is there any possibility to get Stardocks win8 software with crack?
